Why we started The Wild Garden Box

Across the UK, wildlife is in decline. From fewer garden birds to struggling pollinators, many of us have noticed we don’t see as much nature in our gardens as we used to.

At The Wild Garden Box, we believe this trend is completely reversible — and that your own garden can play a part in nature’s fightback.

Ultimately, the overlap between birds, bees, bats and all of the other wildlife that we're lucky enough to see in our gardens is huge, so we loved the idea of creating boxes that actually have a mission and a purpose to really benefit the nature cycle as a whole

That’s why we created our seasonal eco gift boxes: designed to feed the wildlife in your garden today, and plant the seeds for tomorrow’s ecosystem. 

We’ve taken the best of bird seed gift boxes, wildflower seed boxes, and wildlife gifts, and combined them into one seasonal experience.

Think of it as a rewilding patch in your own back garden! 

What makes our eco gift boxes different?

Everything in our gift boxes has been designed to be used in the season you receive it.

No waiting around, and nothing generic - even our bird seed has been carefully ratioed to give the birds the very best possible nutrition for the season in question.

We noticed that lots of bird seed gift boxes sell seed that's not actually beneficial or enjoyed by UK garden birds (wheat, red millet etc).

We didn't want to just give seedball mixes out with vague instructions to just toss in your garden in Autumn or Spring - we want our customers to be fully aware or exactly what wildlife they're feeding, and exactly what they're creating for the future.

• Our bird seed mix contains hemp seed, white millet, peanut granules, white sunflower seeds, black sunflower seeds, safflower seeds and niger seed - all of which are loved by UK birds, and crucially - are incredibly nutritious for them
• Our wildflower seedballs contain 3 seperate mixes of 13 seeds in total - all beautiful, all native to the UK, all incredibly beneficial to the UK's wildlife, and all chosen specifically to be sown in autumn
• Our hedgehog food has been carefully created to give our spiky friends the best possible energy boost before they go off to hibernate
• We've also included a beautiful coconut feeder as an intro to your bird feeding journey, or simply to accompany feeders you may already have

We love the idea of building a wildlife-friendly community

We include a QR code for people to scan to submit their own wildlife sightings, which then get uploaded to our website for people to browse.

In short - we want to build a real community of people with The Wild Garden Box, who will let us know what their gift boxes have created, and what nature they've helped in the process!
