Bird Blooms Seedballs – Grow your own natural bird food - seeds for adults, insects for chicks
Wildflowers are absolutely essential for our garden birds.
Turn your garden into a thriving haven for UK birdlife with our Bird Blooms - wildflower seedballs thoughtfully designed to support garden birds both directly and indirectly. From seed-rich plants loved by finches to nectar-filled flowers that fuel vital insect life, this balanced mix helps build the natural food webs birds depend on.
Each pack contains 20 Bird Blooms, and each Bird Bloom contains around 30 seeds of a carefully selected blend of annuals and perennials — giving you colour in the first year and lasting habitat for seasons to come. This product is handmade in the UK, and is completely plastic free.
Inside each mix you’ll find:
Bird’s-foot Trefoil (perennial) – A powerhouse wildflower and an essential food plant for many butterfly caterpillars. By supporting insects, it strengthens the natural food chain that birds rely on to feed their young.
Corn Poppy (annual) – Bright red blooms that produce abundant seeds, enjoyed by seed-eating birds such as finches.
Cornflower (annual) – A nectar-rich favourite of bees and pollinators, helping sustain the insects that provide protein for growing chicks.
Corn Marigold (annual) – Cheerful golden flowers that attract pollinators and later produce seed heads for birds to forage.
Oxeye Daisy (perennial) – A long-flowering native that draws in insects and creates shelter within meadow-style planting.
Yarrow (perennial) – A hardy native rich in nectar and pollen, supporting beneficial insects and contributing to a healthy garden ecosystem.
Field Forget-me-not (annual/perennial) – Early-season nectar that supports emerging insects, helping kick-start the spring food chain.
Greater Knapweed (perennial) – One of the very best nectar plants for butterflies and bees, strengthening insect populations that birds depend upon.
Sheep’s Sorrel (perennial) – A traditional meadow plant whose seeds are eaten by small birds, particularly finches.
